Twoalternativeprocedures(AandB)aregiven.ProcedureAisthesimplerasitdoesnotincludeaclarificationtreatmentandisespeciallysuitedformilk.ProcedureBincludesaclarificationstepwhichallowsamoresensitivedetectionthroughwhichbetterquantitativeresultscanbeobtained,ifdesired.
Ifeithermethodisusedforcheckingtheproperpasteurizationoftheseproductsortheirrawmaterials,thenfurthertestsarenecessarytoensurethatthephosphataseactivityisnotduetoeitherheat-stablemicrobialphosphataseorreactivatedphosphatase.
